Technology Conference Sessions Program Schedule

Wednesday, April 18

1) Maintenance Training and Certification
10:00 am - noon       Conference Room A
Here is the opportunity to become a Certified Maintenance Manager and to be certified in other specialties within the maintenance field. The IMI offers the only program of certification and training for maintenance professionals at all levels. The program offers skills assessment, a structured curriculum and opportunities for recognition.

Speaker: Lee Thibodeau, Principle, ida Industrial Distributor Associates.

2) Pneumatic Controls - Hands-on Demo/Instruction
10:00 am - noon       Conference Room B
This hands-on program will confer specialized pneumatic contols such as ball and disk check valves, fixed flow controls and orifices. Additionally, sensing elements, which employ pneumatics technology, will be covered. A text will be supplied. The number of workshop panels limit attendance - early registration is advised.

Speaker: Robert O'Keefe, President, O'Keefe Controls Company

3) Creativity in Maintenance Diagnostics
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm       Conference Room A
Infrared and vibration analysis have bee used for years in programs labeled "preventive" or "predictive" maintenance. Manufacturers of the equipment have tried to make each a "stand alone" technology, a panacea for all maintenance ills. Marrying vibration data with infrared imaging, creatively, can make a huge difference in the accuracy of the end result. Learn how the two technologies support each other from actual cases.

Speaker: Rob Brown, sole proprietor of Industrial Diagnostics.

4) Taking the Mystery Out of Certified Welding & ASME Code Stamps.
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm       Conference Room B
Do you fully understand the terms "certified welder" and "ASME code stamps", and their application? This presentation will heldp you understand these terms and answer the following questions: What are ASME code stamps and where are they applicable? What is an ASME "certified welder"? How long is the certification good for? How do you assure quality welding by your in-house maintenance personnel and outside contractors?

Speaker: Steven Neveu, P.E., President of Notch Mechanical Constructors.

Thursday, April 19

5) A Seven-Step Approach to Implementing a World Class Lubrication Program
10:00 am - noon       Conference Room A
An engineered lubrication program is the cornerstone of every structured maintenance management approach today. With over 60% of mechanical failures attributed to poor lubrication practices, the lubrication program has quickly become a priority one in maintenance or continuous improvement strategies. This presentation will outline a seven-step approach to implementing an engineered lubrication program guaranteed to increase equipment reliability, availability and profitability.

Speaker: Kenneth E. Bannister, Principal Consultant and President of Engtech Industries, Inc.

6) Hardous Waste Issues - Inspections and Enforcement Trends
10:00 am - noon       Conference Room B
Do you fear the unknown when it comes to Hazardous Waste Compliance Inspections by Federal and State Agencies? The best remedy is to be aware of the law and the latest enforcement trends. We will journey through a compliance inspection touching on issues such as: How to handle an inspection? What is the inspector looking for? What to do in the event that there are audit findings?

Speaker: Victoria Paliulis, Senior Environmental Engineer, Fuss & O'Neill.

7) OSHA Inspections: Preparation and Response
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm       Conference Room A
View your facility through the eyes of an OSHA compliance officer before the inspection begins! Our speaker will show you how to develop and implement an effective occupational safety and health program that fully complies with OSHA standards, and proactively prepare for and respond to a site inspection. This presentation will help you minimize your facility's legal liability, financial exposure, risk and loss.

Speaker: Rick Kaletsky, Safety Consultant.

8) Environmentally Friendly, Magnetic Water Treatment
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm       Conference Room B
Modern magnetic water treatment is a technology that has come of age. It minimizes the use and discharge of toxic water treatment chemicals, while keeping equipment operating efficiently, corrosion and scale free. Learn how this alternative, non-chemical, water treatment technology can help control increasing costs of water and sewer discharge fees and how it addresses tougher discharge regulations. This presentation will also explain why states and municipalities are becoming interested, and where state funding is becoming available for the installation of magnetic water treatment systems.

Speaker: William McDonough, owner of WJM & Associates Inc.
